The Buffalo Bills got back on the winning track, and did so in dominant fashion against the Carolina Panthers. Buffalo defeated Carolina 40-9 behind a dominant James Cook performance. The star running back ran for 216 yards and two touchdowns in one of the best performances for a Bills running back in franchise history.
Despite the big win, the Bills also suffered a big loss. Defensive tackle Ed Oliver left the game with an arm injury in just his second game back from an ankle injury. ESPN's Adam Schefter has confirmed that it is a serious injury for Oliver, and that he is out indefinitely.
"Bills fear that standout DT Ed Oliver tore his bicep and will be sidelined indefinitely, per sources," Schefter reports. "Oliver is undergoing an MRI to confirm the injury."
Oliver had a massive game in Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens, finishing with three tackles for loss and forcing the Derrick Henry fumble that turned the tide for the Bills. Buffalo did get both Michael Hoecht and Larry Ogunjobi back from suspension, and will now have to lean on them in the absence of Oliver.
