The Buffalo Bills paid a lot of players this offseason. They extended cornerback Christian Benford, and brought back former Bills draft picks Tre'Davious White and Dane Jackson as veteran depth.
These additions made many conclude that the potential of a Rasul Douglas return was out the window. Buffalo acquired Douglas ahead of the 2023 trade deadline from the Green Bay Packers, and he was a vital piece of their secondary over the last season and a half. However, age obviously plays a factor in why Buffalo decided to not make him much of a priority this offseason, and they drafted Max Hairston out of Kentucky to hopefully fill that CB2 role opposite Benford.
Despite that, it seems that Douglas still has the anti-Miami Dolphin mentality, as a recent report notes he rejected an offer to sign with the Dolphins.
"The Dolphins have maintained contact with Bills free agent cornerback Rasul Douglas, who rejected a Miami offer in May," Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald writes.
While the Dolphins may remain in contact with the former Bill, one would think Douglas would look at what has happened with several veterans who go to Miami and instantly regret it, another former Bills DB Jordan Poyer being one of them. I wouldn't expect to see Douglas in Miami.
