Buffalo Bills have four avenues to clinch playoff berth in Week 16 image

The Buffalo Bills notched a huge victory over the New England Patriots in Week 15 that keeps them alive in the AFC East.

The Bills were up against it in a game that the Patriots needed to win to secure the division, as Buffalo trailed 21-0 before storming back and winning the game.

That obviously gives the Bills a huge head of steam going into a Week 16 contest against the Cleveland Browns, a game the Bills should win easily.

While the AFC East isn't settled yet, the Bills can punch their ticket to the playoffs in Week 16. Here are the four ways they can do so.

How Bills can clinch playoff berth in Week 16

1. BUF win + IND loss or tie

2. BUF win + HOU loss or tie

3. BUF tie + IND loss

4. BUF tie + HOU loss

We can immediately pretty much rule out the last two scenarios, as ties are very rare. Not impossible, just unlikely.

As we said, the Bills have a softball matchup versus the Browns in Week 16, so the first two scenarios are definitely in play.

Unfortunately, the Texans also have a softball matchup against a dead-in-the-dirt Las Vegas Raiders team, so there's a good chance Houston wins that.

However, the Colts draw a tough matchup against the San Francisco 49ers, making that first avenue listed as the best path to clinch for Buffalo this week.

The Colts will play against the 49ers on Monday night, so we may not get a resolution until then.
