The Buffalo Bills are gearing up to end their preseason against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Simultaneously, they are prepping to make their final rounds of cuts to get down to 53 players for Week 1. One surprise name that could be on the fringe is wide receiver Curtis Samuel. And with a recent report from Dianna Russini, he could be a name to watch in trade talks.
"The Jets are among several teams monitoring the trade market for potential wide receiver additions, per sources," Russini reports. "The 49ers and Vikings are also making calls."
One would have to think the Bills are getting calls for Samuel. The former Commanders wideout signed a three-year deal worth $24 million. He had just 31 catches and one touchdown in 2024, and missed a great deal of camp with an injury. He's recently returned to team drills, but it's hard to see where he fits into the offense with all of the new additions the Bills have made.
Moving on from the Ohio State product could be good for both sides, as Samuel could get a fresh start on a new team with a larger role.
