The Buffalo Bills have spent the offseason loading up on defensive talent, specifically on the defensive line. They signed Larry Ogunjobi and Michael Hoecht before making their big splash by signing Joey Bosa to a one-year deal. Buffalo also drafted T.J Sanders, Landon Jackson, and Deone Walker in the 2025 NFL Draft.

In light of all these additions, Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report says they should trade edge rusher A.J. Epenesa.

"The idea of trading veteran edge-rusher A.J. Epenesa was a bit more palatable for the Buffalo Bills before free-agent acquisition Joey Bosa suffered a calf injury that could sideline him until training camp," Davenport writes. "But if the Bills are going to send a player packing in a trade, Epenesa still makes the most sense. It’s simply a numbers game. The Bills just gave Bosa over $12 million to come to Buffalo in 2025. Gregory Rousseau received a four-year, $80 million extension that included $54 million in guarantees this spring. The team used a third-round pick in this year’s draft on LSU’s Landon Jackson."

Should the Bills be able to trade for another star like Trey Hendrickson, moving Epenesa would make even more sense. It's understandable to see why some would say they should move Epenesa now, though, considering they also drafted several defensive linemen in April.
