The Buffalo Bills have been incredibly busy when it comes to keeping their homegrown talent in a Bills uniform for the long-term future.
The Bills handed out extensions to Khalil Shakir, Christian Benford, Greg Rousseau, and Terrel Bernard at the beginning of the offseason. On top of that, they gave MVP quarterback Josh Allen a new deal, as well. Now, they've locked down running back James Cook on a four-year, $48 million extension. With this deal, the Bills have topped $600 million in money handed out this offseason in terms of total contract value to homegrown talent.
- Khalil Shakir: $53.058 million
- Greg Rousseau: $80 million
- Christian Benford: $69 million
- Josh Allen: $330 million
- Terrel Bernard: $42.143 million
- James Cook: 48 million
In totality, the Bills have handed out $1.26 billion in new deals this offseason, per an appearance from Brandon Beane on The Pat McAfee Show.
The Bills are doing all they can to make sure they build the best roster possible, while also taking care of their top contributors.
