Bills' Sean McDermott might have inadvertently revealed why Keon Coleman is on the outer image

Buffalo Bills receiver Keon Coleman has been a healthy scratch a few times already this season, and against the Cleveland Browns, he was again.

But after playing against the New England Patriots, where he didn't have a single reception, to see Keon as a healthy scratch, most thought it was form-related.

Well, head coach Sean McDermott stated that it was due to a combination of receivers that the offense had.

But if we read between the lines here, Sean might have offered the exact reason why Keon hasn't played.

"Just combination of receivers offensively that we wanted up and then obviously Mecole [Hardman] was moved into the five spot there for primarily special teams purposes, but also a little bit of receiver as well," McDermott said.

Hmm, and there it is.

Coleman can't be a one-trick pony for Bills

Granted, I could be way off the mark here, but listening to McDermott, Mecole Hardman got the No. 5 receiver spot due to his work on special teams.

That, to me, means that if Keon wants to be part of this offense moving forward, he has to show up and contribute on special teams.

Khalil Shakir does it. Now Keon might have to.

Being "just" a receiver isn't going to work. You have to be multiple.

And right now, it appears Keon isn't.

But there might be a way back for Coleman. Be a menace on special teams.
