Buffalo Bills running back James Cook was the one Buffalo star in line for an extension that didn't receive one this spring. Greg Rousseau, Khalil Shakir, Terrel Bernard, Khalil Shakir, and Josh Allen all received new deals over the offseason, but the Pro Bowl running back was left without one.
Cook still reported to both mandatory mini-camp and training camp without a long-term deal and has participated in practice. However, it looks like that may be coming to an end. Cook was in street clothes on Sunday and didn't practice. When asked why, he gave a simple one-word answer.
"Business," Cook said.
Considering all of the injuries that have taken over Bills camp, including Khalil Shakir suffering a high ankle sprain, it's hard to blame Cook for sitting out and choosing to play it safe when he doesn't have a long-term contract in place.
