Bills place defensive starter on IR ahead of Week 8 image

The Buffalo Bills' defense has been one of the worst in the NFL over their last two games. In Weeks 6 and 7, respectively, the Bills ranked 26th in defensive EPA per play, and they allowed two big performances from Stefon Diggs and Drake London.

The secondary struggles have boiled down to the Bills, frankly, not having enough talent to compete with good offenses. With that in mind, one of their starting secondary members has been lost for the season.

"Bills HC Sean McDermott says on WGR550 that S Taylor Rapp (knee), DT DaQuan Jones (calf) and WR Joshua Palmer (knee/ankle) are OUT for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers," Katherine Fitzgerald reports on X. "Safety Taylor Rapp is headed to IR."

This will likely lead to Jordan Poyer remaining on the active roster. Poyer played against the Falcons, registering one tackle. The Bills will face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday in Week 8 in hopes of ending their two-game losing streak.
