Bills offer confusing Keon Coleman update image

The case of Buffalo Bills receiver Keon Coleman continues to get more complex.

Having been in and out of the team with multiple off-field issues that have seen him benched, the young receiver appears to be on the outer in Buffalo.

Keon last played against the New England Patriots, but didn't even register a target, and since then, he's been a healthy scratch against the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles.

Citing receiver combinations as a reason for Keon being out, do the Bills still have a plan for Coleman moving forward?

Head coach Sean McDermott gave an interesting answer.

“We do,” McDermott said. “Every week, we're trying to find the right combination, and continuity is important. So, we'd love to have that right week to week. Depending on how the game plan turns out, I think those are the questions we have, we start every week with of, hey, who do we have available? What does the game plan look like? Then we go from there.

"So, a lot of different ways to put it together, and we'll see how it looks this week with Keon and beyond.”

McDermott's comments are confusing

The biggest oddity with this situation is that we are about to enter Week 18. Why haven't the Bills found their ideal receiver combination yet?

Some would say that is plenty of runway to figure it out. Yet, it still appears to be just as jumbled as it was months ago.

McDermott still envisions a role for Coleman moving forward, but if you can't count on him in the regular season, will you when the playoffs roll around and the season is on the line?

So, it is a week-to-week thing based on the game plan and the defenses Buffalo is facing.

Will Keon play again in 2025?

Your guess is as good as mine.
