The Buffalo Bills enter Week 17 still in a race with the New England Patriots for first place in the AFC East. At 11-4, they are one game behind the 12-3 Patriots as they gear up to face the Philadelphia Eagles. New England faces the New York Jets. Should they win, they lock up the division while the Bills will be in a wild card spot.

Going into Week 17, Buffalo sat with the No. 6 spot in the AFC playoffs. However, they have jumped up a spot ahead of their matchup with the Eagles. Due to the Houston Texans defeating the Los Angeles Chargers, the Bills jump up to the No. 5 seed. That said, if the Bills lose to Philadelphia, they fall down to the No. 7 seed due to the Texans owning the head-to-head tiebreaker and the Chargers having a better record against their division.

Should the Bills lose or the Patriots win, it will mark the first time since 2019 that the Bills haven't won the AFC East, which is also the last season Tom Brady was the Patriots quarterback. If they end up being the No. 5 seed, Buffalo will all but certainly travel to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers in a rematch of the Week 13 battle between the two teams in which Buffalo dominated 26-7.
