The NFL is a serious business, but that doesn't mean there isn't time for light-hearted moments, and on Wednesday, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield had some fun at each other's expense.
It started with Baker's media availability, where he made a couple of jokes at Josh's expense.
"I have to walkie-talkie to him because he's too damn tall, can't really have a face-to-face conversation with him," a smiling Mayfield said via the Tampa Bay Times' Rich Stroud. "In Buffalo, it's cold, it's rainy, even though he's 6'10, his hands are small, so he better wear his gloves."
The Buccaneers' reporters were heard laughing as Baker threw a few barbs Josh's way.
But then Allen heard Baker's comments and responded.
"That's crazy," a smiling Allen said. "Baker wears two gloves golfing. So he's that type of guy. I love the guy. He's awesome."
So, you can get a sense of the pair's relationship, and come Sunday, that will be put aside as both teams look to get back on the winner's list.
More: Bills' upturn in passing game form could rely on 1 special player
When will Josh Palmer return?
This is great news for the Bills' passing game: Joshua Palmer, who missed the past couple of games, was a full participant in practice on Wednesday.
So, the Bills could be getting back their No. 1 downfield weapon, with Palmer averaging 16.7 yards per reception, and we know the struggles Allen has had picking up chunk plays this season.
Granted, exactly how many snaps we can expect out of Palmer is unknown, and he might be on a ramp-up as he gets fully healthy, but just having him on the field and what that can do for others might be the missing piece for Buffalo's offense.
But while Palmer's impending return is good, Allen and Mayfield's joyful relationship stole the show on Wednesday.
