Bills could've traded for WR Jakobi Meyers before Jaguars image

The Buffalo Bills needed a wide receiver at the trade deadline, and Jakobi Meyers was one of the obvious targets.

The Las Vegas Raiders were openly shopping Meyers. But in the end, the Jacksonville Jaguars got Meyers, not the Bills.

And it's the kind of thing that looms large on Sunday as Meyers plays for the Jags against the Bills in the postseason.

Buffalo has spent the whole season struggling to create separation at the WR position.

Meyers has been incredible since Jacksonville got him.

The Bills really didn't have a great reason to not get it done. It took a couple Jags draft picks to the Raiders to bring Meyers to town.

Buffalo's clear need was only addressed weeks later, in free agency, with a signing of the potentially over the hill Brandin Cooks.

The Bills were counting on Keon Coleman being better in year two. They were counting on free agent signing Joshua Palmer making an impact. Neither happened.

Khalil Shakir has been good out of the slot, and the tight end group is good.

But out wide? It's been rough.

They could've had Meyers.

Instead, they're facing him in the playoffs.
