Why is Sean McDermott wearing glasses?

Sean McDermott is wearing glasses for the exact reason you'd think: To see more clearly.

ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg asked McDermott about it on Friday, and he first replied with a joke: "Yeah, they're not even prescription. I just wear 'em for the look."

After drawing some chuckles, McDermott gave his real answer.

"I got Steve (Tasker) to laugh," McDermott said. "Yeah, no, they are 100% prescription. So may guys at Hogenkamp Optics over there take good care of me, and it's something I tried to do a few years ago and I just couldn't get adjusted to it.

"Just living 40 some, 50 some years without glasses and then trying to do it in a game, didn't work for me. Right now, I have no choice. So it's out of necessity more than anything, but I appreciate you asking."

There you have it. Nothing too quirky about that.

Certainly no excuses about missing details from the sideline now.
