One thing a franchise wants is trust from its fans, and the Buffalo Bills, in an hour-long press conference, just lost it.

With owner Terry Pegula and general manager Brandon Beane fronting the media after Sean McDermott's firing, it was the definition of a train wreck.

Even more so when it came to young receiver Keon Coleman, who has struggled in his second season.

With Beane being the general manager, naturally, he had a big say in the team drafting Keon, right?

"I'll address the Keon situation,” Pegula said. “The coaching staff pushed to draft Keon. I'm not saying Brandon wouldn't have drafted him, but he wasn't his next choice. That was Brandon being a team player and taking advice of his coaching staff, who felt strongly about the player. He's taken for some reason heat over it and not saying a word about it, but I'm here to tell you the true story."

Except that isn't the true story, Terry, is it?

Videos have since surfaced online with Beane the one clearly in favor of drafting Coleman.

“I went to bed that night saying it’s Keon unless someone blows us away," Bean said in one video. "Barring someone offers us something stupid. We’ll take Keon Coleman.”

The other was Beane stating that Keon running a 4.56 at the scouting combine.

"I'm glad he ran that, it'll help to get him," Beane said.

So, no, Mr. Pegula. It wasn't all on the coach's decision. The person you just promoted was the one who also pushed for the franchise to draft Coleman.

Bills embarrass themselves in press conference

To be honest, I'm not sure how the franchise will move forward after this, and I'm not sure how the fans will react to the press conference as a whole.

The Bills, in a nutshell, blamed all of the bad things that happened on McDermott. And all the good things happened because of Beane.

Pegula even stated it was Beane's doing that the practice squad players played well in big games.

Yeah, that's on the coaches.

It was just embarrassing from Pegula, and he's put his franchise in a tough spot now.

Because no one likes liars, and the Bills have just announced to the world that they are.
