Bills' 33-year old, 11-season NFL veteran reveals retirement plans image

The Buffalo Bills' season ended abruptly on Saturday night in Denver, and now it's decision time.

The Bills' most veteran players have to think about the possibility of retirement.

One of those guys is 33-year old defensive tackle Jordan Phillips. Speaking with ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg on Sunday, Phillips said that he's open to returning for another year, but he'd only do it if he can play for the Bills.

Phillips entered the league as the No. 52 overall pick (second round) in the 2015 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma by the Miami Dolphins.

At 6-foot-6, 341 pounds, Phillips has always been a stout presence on the interior of the defensive line.

He played with the Dolphins for three-and-a-quarter seasons, then closed out the 2018 season with the Bills and spent all of 2019 in Buffalo, too.

He then went to the Arizona Cardinals for a pair of seasons.

Phillips came back to Buffalo, again, for 2022 and 2023.

He went to Dallas to begin 2024 but played only two games there before returning to the Bills for the rest of that season and staying in Buffalo for 2025.

Phillips has played 140 NFL games, 72 of those with the Bills.

He has 25.0 career sacks (14.5 with the Bills).

Phillips had a disappointing end to the season, getting hurt and not being able to suit up in either of Buffalo's postseason games.

His veteran presence would probably be welcomed back if he does decide he wants to keep playing. There's a lot of offseason ahead to fully work things out.
