Will Lamar Jackson play in Week 12? Ravens' John Harbaugh gives interesting answer image

It is another week, and another cloud of mystery when it comes to the health of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, as the two-time MVP was a no-show at practice on Wednesday.

Given Lamar's injury history, it did make the ears prick up of the NFL world when No. 8 didn't practice.

Of course, when head coach John Harbaugh fronted the media, naturally, the first question was on Lamar, and Harbaugh stated it was similar to last week, and that he had no public information that he wanted to share.

But he did offer this.

"I mean, it's the football, it's challenging, and I do appreciate the questions, but there's really nothing I can tell you,” Harbaugh said. “Some guys can practice, some guys can't. Some guys we'd rather hold out and get them ready to go.

“I get it, but it's just kind of the nature of the deal. So, I know that Lamar, it's our quarterback. I understand how important it is, and wasn't in his best interest to practice today. And we'll see where we're at tomorrow.”

Ravens being cautious with Lamar ahead of Week 12

Harbaugh's words, "not in his best interest," to practice is an interesting sentence, and that lends itself to a deeper dive into why.

Baltimore could have simply said Jackson was a little sore (didn't have to specify where), and he is just resting up on what is a normal off day for some players. Instead, we are now curious as to why Jackson isn't on the practice field and why it wasn't in his best interest to be out there.

It is all rather odd, but the same thing happened last week, and Jackson was fine and suited up against the Cleveland Browns.

And we assume it will be business as usual for Jackson in the coming days as he gets ready for the Jets.
