The Baltimore Ravens made a bold choice.
With Lamar Jackson out again in Week 8, they wouldn't start the guy they signed to be their backup quarterback, Cooper Rush. They'd start their former backup, one who wasn't even on the roster to start the year, Tyler Huntley.
And man, Huntley was everything they needed.
Huntley may have just saved Baltimore's season.
They entered the day with a 1-5 record. Only one team has ever made the playoffs after starting 1-6.
The odds from 2-5 aren't all that much better, but there's a chance, and that's what Huntley gave them.
Tyler Huntley texted John Harbaugh early in camp. Told him he wanted an opportunity. Harbaugh called him right back. It took a while to come together, but Huntley wanted to be back in Baltimore.

On Sunday, Huntley led the Ravens to a 30-16 win over the Bears.
He was efficient, completing 17-of-22 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown to Charlie Kolar. He also ran it eight times for 53 yards.
And now, Jackson might be back.
The reported plan is that Jackson will play on Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins. If so, Huntley will retreat to the bench.
And if Jackson can lead the Ravens on a miraculous charge to the postseason, and maybe further, they'll get to look back and point to what Huntley did in Week 8 as the moment their season turned.
Even if it doesn't turn around, Huntley did what he was called upon to do. Without Huntley, the Ravens would be even further down a ditch with no return.
With him, the Ravens still have a chance.
