Ravens reveal 'simple' plan to get things back on track image

The Baltimore Ravens feel like they are in freefall without Lamar Jackson and an injury list long enough to make your eyes water...and we are at Week 6.

After a horror 44-10 beatdown at the hands of the Houston Texans, the Ravens dropped to 1-4 with their playoff hopes hanging by a thread, and the Los Angeles Rams up next.

With most of Baltimore's injuries on the defensive side of the ball, one would think that offensively, Todd Monken and his team could whip up more than 10 points with Cooper Rush, right? Well, they didn't, and for some, the Ravens are dead in the water until No. 8 returns.

Baltimore is struggling to keep its head above water, but for receiver Rashod Bateman, the path forward is a rather simple one.

“I just feel like we got to trust each other, trust the plan, trust what we got,” Bateman said. “At the end of the day, we just got to do our job. It sounds simple, but it's what it all boils down to. We got all the players that we need. We got all the weapons, so we just got to put it all together.”

Ravens have to stay afloat in playoff race

Easier said than done, and with the Rams up next, it looks next to impossible to see any scenario that doesn't have the Ravens at 1-5 when Jackson is expected to return in Week 8.

Getting Derrick Henry rolling surely has to be the game plan here, as Rush threw the football 20 times and Henry only had 15 rushes against the Texans. One would think that if the Ravens are to win, Derrick needs to have 25+ attempts.

Will that happen against the Rams? Who knows, but Bateman has belief that the Ravens can turn things around.

Me, on the other hand? Color me skeptical.
