Ravens reveal 'only answer' to turnover issues

The Baltimore Ravens have been extremely turnover-prone over the past two weeks, with three turnovers in each game, and have had no turnovers in a game just once.

And it has come from players you wouldn't normally expect.

Derrick Henry has three fumbles, Lamar Jackson two, and others like Zay Flowers, who have also put the ball on the ground. In total, nine fumbles to go with five interceptions in six games (four are from Cooper Rush), that isn't a good way to live in the NFL.

And offensive coordinator Todd Monken knows it, and luckily, he knows how to navigate it, too.

“When it was Derrick, nobody felt worse than Derrick," Monken said. "When it's Zay, nobody feels worse than Zay. When we're struggling, I sure as hell don't feel good. Good teams rally around each other and say how do we get it right? There's not one person on this team that's going to go without making mistakes. How do we rally around each other and keep working together? Because that is the only answer. The only answer is to keep fighting collectively together. This isn't our first rodeo together.

"So, let's circle it up. Let's figure it out and let's put together a run here with what I think's a really good football team moving forward.”

Ravens have a lot to figure out in bye week

What is going to be tough for the Ravens is that coming out of their bye week, at 1-5, the margin for error is nearly gone if they hope to be a playoff team.

Looking at the remaining schedule, the Ravens might have to win nine or 10 games to just be in with a shot at playoff football, and that isn't a great spot to be in.

But because of injuries and poor form, that is where Baltimore finds itself, and with Lamar returning in Week 8, that is where the comeback starts, because in truth, it's got to start from somewhere.

Fix the offense, fix the defense, and halt the crippling turnovers. Those are the items on Baltimore's checklist during the bye week, and time will tell if this team can, in fact, turn this embattled ship around.
