One of the Baltimore Ravens' urgent priorities this offseason, after deciding on their head coach, is to figure out Lamar Jackson's contract.
And owner Steve Bisciotti is well aware of it.
With Jackson's cap hit in 2026 a monster $74.5 million, there's no way it is financially viable for the team to move forward with, especially with free agency and the need to build out the roster.
But Bisciotti made it clear he wants Jackson to be his quarterback. And if Lamar doesn't want an extension?
“If he doesn’t want to do an extension, then we throw those $74 million out into void years, and Lamar’s coming back at the same cap number he was last year,” Bisciotti said. “That’s not what we want. We want another window, and Lamar knows that.
"I think that he’s amenable to doing something that mirrors the last deal he did, although the annual number will be a little higher. But I’m hoping that it’s plug a new number into the same contract he signed last year and move on."

Bisciotti's stance is clear
Lamar will be a Raven in 2026, and it is clear that Bisciotti isn't going to be waiting around for Jackson to figure out what he wants done with his contract.
Time is of the essence.
With a host of free agents needing to be re-signed, like Tyler Linderbaum and Isiah Likely, the Ravens can't afford to have this contract saga drag out.
And Bisciotti made it clear he won't be doing it.
The winds of change have blown through Baltimore, and it appears the franchise's approach to contracts might change as well.
Last time, it dragged out far too long with Lamar.
This time? Bisciotti won't allow it to happen again.
