Ravens’ John Harbaugh delivers blunt take on Derrick Henry’s fumble vs. Lions image

The Detroit Lions walked out of Week 3 of the NFL with a 38-30 road win over the Baltimore Ravens.

For the most part of four quarters, it was a back-and-forth battle, with the teams trading scores. The Ravens down 28-24, another Derrick Henry fumble changed everything, though. The Lions took advantage, scoring 10 more points to Baltimore’s six.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh addressed Henry’s fumble in the postgame press conference.

“I don’t think it will be [the norm] going forward, but we gotta get it fixed. That was a blind shot [from the defender]. … Still, we just want to protect the football,” Harbaugh said, per Sarah Ellison.

Henry was noticeably upset after the fumble, slamming his helmet and even tripping into the Ravens bench in frustration.

After the game speaking to reporters, Henry was visibly upset, saying he was "at a loss for words."

"I just got to hold onto the ball," Henry said. "I just gotta keep working... that's all I can think of right now."

This has to be concerning to the Ravens and Henry, though. This was Henry’s third fumble through three games this season. He had just three fumbles all of last season. Or, as Ian Hartitz broke it down, from 2023–2024, three fumbles on 652 touches, compared to three on 43 touches this year.

This is just one element of the Ravens’ game that has to be cleaned up, with the run defense another issue. Now at 1-2 and with the Kansas City Chiefs up ahead, it’s not going to get any easier for Baltimore.
