Ravens could draft 464-pound freak to replace retired Michael Pierce image

The Baltimore Ravens have a huge hole in the middle of their defense after the retirement of stalwart defensive tackle Michael Pierce.

Ravens fans on social media came out of the woodwork on Thursday with a strong idea for how to replace Pierce.

They want Desmond Watson, from the University of Florida.

Watson is no ordinary defensive tackle. He measured Thursday at 6-foot-5 and 464 pounds. He would become the heaviest player drafted in NFL history.

At his pro day, Watson ran a 5.93 40-yard dash and vertical leaped 25 inches, which both are pretty hard to fathom at his size.

Watson wasn't invited to the NFL Combine, which means he's not viewed as a major prospect. But a smart NFL team would have to be able to figure out a way to use his combination of sheer size and athleticism.

Watson played in 51 games for Florida and recorded 63 tackles.

He also ran for a first down during the Gasparilla Bowl in December.

Watson might not become an NFL star, but he could certainly be a cult hero for the fanbase that ends up with him.
