So close, yet so far.

That best describes the Baltimore Ravens' 26-24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers that ended their season.

Rookie kicker Tyler Loop missed the game-winning kick as Lamar Jackson had put the offense down at the Pittsburgh 26-yard line to set up a 44-yard field goal attempt.

It missed, and the Ravens' season ended.

And when asked post-game what his thoughts were, a visibly angry Jackson offered this.

“We did all that, man, come up short, devastating, furious, all type of I don't know,” Lamar said. “I'm everywhere with it right now.”

Ravens fail in biggest moment

When Lamar and Isaiah Likely converted a fourth-and-seven, which set Baltimore up in field goal position, there was a feeling that the game was in hand.

The Steelers could only watch on as Loop walked out for a 44-yard attempt.

But the football gods were on Pittsburgh's side, and Loop's kick missed wide right.

"Definitely stunned, Lamar added. "Thought we had it in the bag. I thought we had it in the bag. I don't know what else we can do.

It will be a tough next few days for the franchise as they try to move past Week 18, and it won't be easy given how close they came to playoff football.

And like Lamar, we were a little stunned that the Ravens didn't win this game.
