ESPN insider updates John Harbaugh's job security with Ravens after brutal ending image

After a nightmare season, it still looked like the Baltimore Ravens were going to the playoffs. And then Tyler Loop's field goal sailed wide right.

John Harbaugh and his team entered the season as Super Bowl favorites, and they won't even play in the postseason.

The head coach came under fire somewhat frequently throughout this season. Would the Ravens really fire him, though?

ESPN's Jamison Hensley offered this brief update in a new article on Monday:

John Harbaugh signed an extension last offseason, which keeps him under contract through 2028. But this disappointing season has led to Harbaugh being booed while walking off the field at a home game and questions about his job security. "I try to do the job, not try to keep the job," Harbaugh said toward the end of the season.

Harbaugh did have plenty of tricky stuff to deal with this season, starting with the constant injuries to Lamar Jackson.

When the Ravens had their full team on the field, they were still pretty good.

They were really undone by a brutal start to the season that no one saw coming, which was particularly crushed by the blown lead in Week 1 to the Bills. It took Baltimore a long time to recover from that.

Harbaugh has been in Baltimore what feels like forever. He won a Super Bowl there. It seems likely the Ravens will run it back with him next season and try to bounce back from this.
