Ronnie Harrison used to play for the Indianapolis Colts.

In Week 10 playing against his former team for the Atlanta Falcons, Harrison has a different helmet.

Actually, it's just a thick cover on his helmet.

Why does Falcons' 36 Ronnie Harrison have a different-looking helmet?

Ronnie Harrison is wearing a Guardian Cap.

It's a protective covering that goes over the regular helmet and is meant to limit head injuries.

He's the second Falcons defender to wear such a covering.

His fellow linebacker, JD Bertrand (40), already wears one.

Guardian Caps were first allowed to be worn on NFL practice fields in 2020.

The first time players could wear Guardian Caps in games was 2024.

Harrison has had multiple recorded concussions in his NFL career. He's trying to prevent the chances of getting any more.
