The Atlanta Falcons are shaking up the whole organization.

They'll have a new head coach, and a new general manager, and a new president of football operations.

So there are things that have to be done before roster decisions can start being made.

Once everyone is in place, though, Kyle Pitts comes into the spotlight.

The talented tight end is at the end of his contract. He's going to be a free agent. And the Falcons have to decide what to do.

Pitts had a phenomenal rookie season in 2021, steps back in 2022, 2023 and 2024 and then a bunch of improvement in 2025.

He's probably not worth the franchise tag, and it seems very possible someone will outbid the Falcons for Pitts in free agency.

ESPN's Dan Graziano thinks that this is it for Pitts in Atlanta.

"He came on strong at the end of his fifth season with the team, finishing with 928 receiving yards," Graziano wrote on Monday. "But with top wide receiver Drake London extension-eligible, I don't see the Falcons handing out top tight end money to a player who hasn't been consistently healthy or consistently great since after his rookie season."

Pitts still probably has a solid NFL future ahead of him, but for each individual team, it's about priorities. If the Falcons decide they need to pay London, then that's that.

Other teams will have different focuses. And an organization that decides it wants an athletic mismatch at tight end will probably be plenty happy to end up with Pitts.
