Falcons have a new WR on depth chart after Drake London injury news image

The Atlanta Falcons haven't had an idea season as far as wide receiver injuries go.

That continues in Week 13. Drake London is out.

The Falcons, of course, are also without Michael Penix Jr., which means backup QB Kirk Cousins gets to work with a WR depth chart that doesn't even include London.

Atlanta added a new wide receiver to the gameday roster with an elevation from the practice squad on Saturday.

The new guy: Deven Thompkins.

Thompkins was originally undrafted in 2022 out of Utah State.

He originally signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In his rookie season, he made five catches for 32 yards.

In 17 games in 2023 with the Bucs, Thompkins had 17 catches for 83 yards.

He played just seven games in 2024 with the Carolina Panthers and had four catches for 20 yards.

Thompkins had only been elevated one other game this year, and he didn't have a catch.

At this point, Thompkins will potentially help on special teams while maybe getting an offensive snap here or there.

It's just a sign of the tough straits Atlanta is in that they have to elevate a WR off the practice squad at all. It's not what Atlanta wanted at this time of year at all.
