Will Marvin Harrison Jr. return in Week 12? Injury updates, fantasy football handcuff advice image

For the first time this season, the Arizona Cardinals did not have wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. In the lineup in Week 11.

That's because Harrison Jr. Had to undergo surgery for appendicitis during the week. He did not practice at all before being ruled out for Sunday's game.

As we turn the page to Week 12, Harrison Jr.'s status remains up in the air.

Here's what we know about his chances of playing in Week 12 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Will Marvin Harrison Jr. Return in Week 12?

There was no mention of Harrison Jr.'s status on Monday when head coach Jonathan Gannon met with the media, so there is no official word from the Cardinals.

However, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the initial belief was that it is at least possible Harrison Jr. Misses more than one game, so he could potentially sit out for a second contest this week.

"Marvin Harrison Jr. Recently underwent surgery for appendicitis and is out this week with the potential for additional weeks," Rapoport reported on Nov. 12.

Fantasy Guides has provided some useful information to give more insight into how long Harrison Jr. Could be out.

Three players have gotten surgery for appendicitis in years past, a list that includes Ben Roethlisberger, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Austin Hooper. Of those three players, only Hooper missed multiple games, and two, to be exact.

We'll have a better idea of where Harrison Jr. Stands on Wednesday, when the Cardinals release their first injury report.

Who is Marvin Harrison Jr.'s handcuff?

After Michael Wilson exploded for 15 catches for 185 yards in Harrison Jr.'s absence, he is no doubt the player you want to own in fantasy football.

We've always felt Wilson is a better player than his past numbers suggest and he has routinely been held back by Kyler Murray. His production in Week 11 with Jacoby Brissett under center helps support that claim.

He'll be a solid WR2 with upside if Harrison Jr. Sits, but we wouldn't suggest starting him if the former first-round pick plays.
