The Arizona Cardinals seemed to get some good news this week.
Talented RB Trey Benson was back on the practice field after an extended absence.
The news didn't stay quite as good, though. On Friday, Benson was ruled out for Sunday's Week 12 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Benson, coming back from a knee injury, was a limited participant in all three days of official practice in the lead-up to Week 12. He never elevated to full participation, and the Cardinals must've felt he wasn't quite ready yet.
Arizona's RB depth chart is even more shorthanded because of the injury to Emari Demercado. He has an ankle problem, didn't practice all week and is also ruled out.
The good news for Bam Knight is that after two limited days to start his week, he had a full practice on Friday and has no injury designation after battling his own ankle issue.
Knight should see ample work on Sunday.
His backup will be Michael Carter.
It wouldn't be shocking to see Jacoby Brissett throw a ton for the second week in a row. Last week, Brissett completed 47 passes, an NFL single-game record.
But when the ball gets handed off on Sunday, it'll most likely be to Knight.
