The Arizona Cardinals welcomed back Marvin Harrison Jr. In Week 13 after he missed the previous two games following an appendectomy.

Unfortunately, Harrison didn't come away from his first game back unscathed, as he suffered a heel injury that had him in and out of the contest.

On Monday, Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon was a guest on Arizona Sports Radio and noted that Harrison's injury is similar to the one cornerback Max Melton dealt with that forced him to sit out in Week 13.

"I know Max Melton didn't go this last week because of a heel, kind of a similar injury," Gannon said. "You watch him run and he's running great, butt hen when he walks or he jogs, it doesn't look great... It's a tough injury because it's on his foot. Anytime he puts pressure on his foot, it's tough."

Gannon went on to add that the Cardinals are taking it day by day with Harrison and the wideout will "do everything that he can to play."

The fact that Gannon compared Harrison's injury to Melton's means there is a real chance the second-year wideout misses a game.

We'll know more on Wednesday, when the Cardinals release their first injury report of the week.

Arizona has zero reason to force the issue with Harrison's  injury, as the Cardinals have already been eliminated from playoff contention.

Knowing that, we could see Arizona err on the side of caution if Harrison is anything less than 100%.

If Harrison doesn't go, fellow wide receiver Michael Wilson will step into the No. 1 role once again. Wilson was dynamite for the Cardinals during Harrison's two-game absence, ripping off 303 receiving yards on 25 catches.
