On Sunday morning, the Arizona Cardinals added quarterback Kyler Murray to their injury report due to an illness, but he remains expected to start in their Week 1 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
ESPN's NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted:
"Cardinals are adding QB Kyler Murray to the injury report this morning due to an illness, but he’ll have no game-status designation and he will start vs. the Saints."
The Saints will host the Cardinals in the opener at 1 p.m. ET in the Caesars Superdome.
The Cardinals face the Saints for the first time in the regular season since 2022, so the team and fans alike will look for Murray to lead the charge as they aim to begin the year on a strong note.
