Former Heisman winner predicts one SEC team now eliminated from Playoff image

Former Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel felt the need to stir the pot after the Texas Longhorns' loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday night.

While on "Nightcap" alongside NFL greats Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson and Shannon Sharpe, Manziel declared Texas is toast. The College Football Playoff chances are slim and they should be “finished” after the 35-10 loss to Georgia in Week 12.

“Can we say this? This eliminates Texas from all talk of being in the College Football Playoff,” Manziel said. “See you boys next season in August.”

The remark by Johnny Football drew laughter from both Johnson and Sharpe, but it's a very real question. Is Texas done with three losses?

Texas took a critical blow in an already difficult postseason path. While Manziel believes the conversation should be over, Texas isn’t entirely out of the picture. Believe it or not, they could still sneak in but trail several SEC contenders.

Texas A&M, Georgia, Ole Miss and Alabama all sit above the Horn in Playoff probability, according to ESPN. Also, Oklahoma has emerged as the leading candidate for a potential fifth SEC spot. Texas is behind OU, and its upset loss to Florida remains the biggest stain.

To stay alive, Texas must defeat Arkansas and No. 3 Texas A&M at home. On the other side, Oklahoma must drop a game to Missouri or LSU. Not a likely outcome, but anything is possible on Saturdays in the SEC.
