Texas Tech quarterback Behren Morton left the Big 12 opener on Saturday at Utah after taking a hit early in the third quarter.
Morton was scrambling and slid down with Utah linebacker Johnathan Hall hitting his helmet with a shoulder. Officials reviewed the play for targeting and determined there was no penalty on the play. FOX Sports' Mike Pereira agreed with the call on the field.
Morton left for the locker room for evaluation. He was visibly shaken up and was replaced by Will Hammond. He went 12-of-19 for 142 yards and two interceptions in the first half. 73 of those yards came on a catch and run by J'Koby Williams, which set up the game's only touchdown thus far.
