Texas A&M's historic comeback saves perfect season in win over South Carolina image

The Texas A&M Aggies came into Saturday's SEC matchup with the South Carolina Gamecocks riding high off the momentum of a 9-0 record. As one of college football's final unbeaten teams, there weren't many worries with a 3-6 opponent, but it appears Mike Elko's team underestimated what SC brought to the table.

After going down 30-3 at halftime, the third-ranked Aggies needed a monster response to keep everything going forward. And they did just that while facing adversity.

Texas A&M kept South Carolina scoreless in the second half for a 31-30 win. An unbelievable feat for any team and was the largest comeback victory in A&M history. Also, the Aggies are the first time in SEC history to ever erase a 27-point deficit over the past 93 years.

What this mean for Texas A&M is they stay perfect on the season with 10 wins. They'll likely remain as one of the top team in next Tuesday's College Football Playoff rankings. The only unbeatens to this point are Texas A&M, Ohio State, and Indiana. The two Big Ten teams are on a path to face each other in the first week of December for the title.

The Aggies need to get past FCS Samford and No. 10 Texas to push them into the SEC Championship Game on Dec. 6 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
