Penn State was favored to wallop Villanova on Saturday.
And the Nittany Lions certainly did wallop the Wildcats. Except, Penn State didn't cover the betting spread. And it was one of the craziest bad beats of all time.
The spread was 48.5.
Penn State led 52-0 before the final play of the game, but Villanova was in the red zone, so the Wildcats had a chance.
The Nittany Lions' backups finishing out the game got a ton of pressure in on quarterback Tanner Maddocks.
But Maddocks rolled around to extend the play, and extend the play, and extend the play some more.
By the end, Maddocks just threw up a prayer.
Brandon Binkowski was standing in the back of the end zone, and he went up for the ball with one hand.
Somehow, some way, Binkowski came down with it.
Touchdown Villanova.

It must've felt good in general to score against a powerhouse like Penn State.
But like that?
Wow.
And to cover the spread?
Unreal, on both sides.
Anyone who bet the crazy wide line in Villanova's favor will be a big fan of Maddocks and Binkowski for a long, long time.
