The UCLA Bruins shocked the country on Saturday afternoon when they welcomed Penn State to the Rose Bowl and never trailed.

The Bruins entered the game 0-4 and had not led for a single second all season along, and flipped the switch against the Nittany Lions.

No. 7 Penn State never led against UCLA, and became the first top 10 team to lose to an 0-4 team in 40 years. After the game, UCLA's offensive coordinator Jerry Neuheisel revealed something that made everything that went down on Saturday even worse for Penn State.

Jerry Neuheisel's Postgame Quote Will Make Penn State Fans Sick

Neuheisel took over as the offensive coordinator at the beginning of the week and had just two days to practice calling plays with his offense.

To make matters worse, he'd never been a play caller in his coaching career, so everything about it was new to him, especially on game day.

"I hate to say this, but I had never practiced with the headset, in terms of like the button to talk to the quarterback," Neuheisel said. "So there's like multiple times during the game, I'm calling the play but the headsets flipped up cause I'm used to being a position coach. Then, all of a sudden I'm pressing the wrong part of the button trying to talk to him.

"It was a mess. Hopefully we'll get that cleaned up by next week. But, it was just one of those days. It just all kind of fell into place."

Neuheisel was smiling, in a good mood telling that story postgame, because that's not something that's suppose to happen to a 20-plus point underdog and still win the game.

However, every time Penn State began to get any momentum, UCLA punched back to keep the Nittany Lions at a distance.

The Bruins had scored 57 points through four games coming into Saturday, and then put up 42 points on the No. 7 team in the country.

On the flip side, the Nittany Lions gave up just 17 points through their first three games of the year, and then 30 points to No. 2 Oregon. Then, UCLA did virtually anything it wanted and put up 42 points on a defense that was recognized as one of the best in the country.

Now, with an entire new offensive system, you can expect there to be adjustments to be made throughout the game, but that's not an excuse to give up 42 points.

It seemed like everything that could go wrong, did go wrong for Penn State on Saturday, and for UCLA, the Bruins got to celebrate history behind a new, young and loose coaching staff.
