The Penn State football season gets underway on Saturday as the Nittany Lions open their season against Nevada. Penn State will be led by senior quarterback Drew Allar, who has his eyes set on some big goals in 2025.
Allar is coming off of two great seasons as Penn State's starting quarterback, returning in 2025 after falling one game short of reaching the national championship in 2024.
Before Penn State's season gets started on Saturday, Emmy Award winner and Nittany Lion alum Keegan-Michael Key took to social media to send a message to the Penn State quarterback.
Keegan-Michael Key Sends Positive Message to Drew Allar
Hours before Penn State kicks off its 2025 season against Nevada in Happy Valley, Penn State alum, Keegan-Michael Key, delivered a message to Penn State's quarterback.
"Hey everybody, it's me, Keegan-Michael Key, Penn State alum and huge Nittany Lions fan. I wanted to do a little shout out to Drew Allar. Looking forward to the season, buddy. You're gonna have a great one," Key said. "It's gonna be, this is your year. I know it. And I'm here, I'm giving you positive vibes. Maybe the ball fly true and straight. Have a great one man. We are."
"He's leaner, he's moving extremely well, command of the offense."

Key earned a Master of Fine Arts at Penn State in 1996, and has declared his fandom for the Nittany Lions ever since. The comedian, actor, producer and writer has developed a long, outstanding career in the film industry. Now, he's ready to watch his Nittany Lions chase a national championship in 2025.
Allar came up just short in what was a very strong junior year. The Penn State quarterback threw for 3,327 yards and 24 touchdowns. Allar did throw eight interceptions, including the painful one that basically ended Penn State's season against Notre Dame.
However, Allar has been one of the best quarterbacks in the country at protecting the football since he started his college career. Now, the Nittany Lions' senior has one more year to prove he's a top quarterback and lead Penn State to a national championship.
