Green Bay Packers star Micah Parsons only played about half of the defensive snaps in the team's season opener against the Detroit Lions.

But that's all he needed to make his presence felt in the game.

The former Nittany Lions' availability was in question ahead of Green Bay's Week 1 matchup thanks to a back injury he had been nursing throughout the Summer and his infamous contract dispute with the Dallas Cowboys, but he looked just fine in limited action, recording a sack, quarterback hit, and tackle for loss in the 27-13 victory.

Micah Parsons Sends Message to NFC North Rival Lions

After the game, Parsons spoke to the media and addressed his own personal feud with Detroit that dates back to his days with the Cowboys.

"I've never liked Detroit. I've never liked them - even when I was in Dallas." said Parsons, via David Comer of Fox 2 Detroit.

"I felt like Dallas and Detroit already had a rivalry, I already have that rivalry built up - I'm excited to play them. They kind of got our guys when I was injured last year when the whole team was injured."

The former Penn State pass rusher is referencing the last two Cowboys-Lions matchups that featured a controversial ending with Dallas coming out on top in December 2023 and a rematch in October 2024 that saw Detroit pour it on in a 47-9 blowout victory.

Now, Parsons gets to face the Lions twice a year with his new team in Green Bay.

He also made sure to shout out Detroit's esteemed offensive tackle, two-time All-Pro Penei Sewell, his new matchup on the right side of the line.

"I'm not gonna be able to get rid of him. He's a hell of a player. I told him, I said, 'You're my new rivalry now. I don't got Lane no more. It's gonna be you. I'mma see you twice a year, so you might as well buckle up.'" Parsons said via The Athletic's Matt Schneidman.

The former 12th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft is obviously excited about his new digs in Green Bay, and he's letting his division rivals know about it.
