Green Bay Packers star pass rusher Micah Parsons is no stranger to the Washington Commanders' young phenom quarterback Jayden Daniels.

The former Nittany Lion played Daniels twice last year with the Dallas Cowboys, and is hoping to use that experience to help Green Bay take down Washington when the two teams face each other on Thursday night.

In the two games Parsons played against Daniels, he recorded 4.5 sacks and will look to replicate that success for the first time in green and yellow.

Micah Parsons Sends Warning to Jayden Daniels

When asked about what it takes to chase down an agile and mobile quarterback like Daniels, Parsons provided detailed insights into his mindset.

"I guess that just depends what type of players you got. We got horse engines now, like I don’t see nobody outrunning me from the edge and stuff, and I played ’em a bunch. He knows it’s different. It’s different. He’s used to them 6-5, 260 D-ends. This thing 245, 250, you know what I mean? That engine’s a little bit different than them ’80s," Parsons said via The Athletic's Matt Schneidman.

"For me, I don’t think it’s just pick and choosing. I just gotta make sure I get vertical if I’m gonna take the inside move and make sure that he don’t outrun me to our pinpoint. We gonna give up some 5-yard runs or he’s gonna get loose once or twice, but the thing is to make sure it’s not consecutive."

Keeping Daniels, the reigning offensive rookie of the year, contained will be key for the Packers on Thursday night, as letting him run wild will surely spell disaster for Green Bay.

But that's why you go out and acquire a superstar edge rusher like Parsons.

The former Penn State standout will look to continue the honeymoon with Packers fans after his dominant performance in limited snaps Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. Parsons knows he has to continue to prove his worth.

"You can pay a guy a lot of money and not be worth anything, so I think for me, the most important thing is to prove what I’m worth on the field and as a teammate so that way I can win these guys’ respect."
