When the news broke that the Dallas Cowboys would be trading former Penn State pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, you would be hard-pressed to find a single person who was happy about it in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Most fans thought the Cowboys were just playing hardball, similar to what they did with quarterback Dak Prescott last season and wide receiver Ceedee Lamb the year before that.
This time around, it wasn't theatre. Dallas shipped off their first-round pick from the 2021 NFL Draft for the two future firsts and former Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark, and many Cowboys players voiced their dissatisfaction after publicly supporting Parsons throughout his hold-in.
Ceedee Lamb Comments on the Micah Parsons Trade, Saying 'It Sucked'
In an interview with Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News, Lamb described how he felt after seeing the Cowboys trade away their former Nittany Lion.
"Honestly, it sucked," Lamb said. "A lot of people on the team were really close with Micah, and he was really good with a lot of people. He can relate to a lot of people. He loved to compete."
"I wouldn't say it was easy for us to move on, nor would I say it's hard. It sucks. It's just like a repetitive thought. Granted, we did a get a great player in Kenny Clark. Let's not override that."
While Lamb made sure to give some respect for Clark, it's easy to understand his frustration as Dallas enters a pivotal season under first-time head coach Brian Schottenheimer. The Cowboys are looking to bounce back from an injury-riddled 2024 season and be a contender in a loaded NFC East that features the reigning champion Philadelphia Eagles and up-and-coming Washington Commanders.
The job would've been a lot easier if Parsons still had the star on his helmet.
"Obviously, wishing him the best and hope he has the best season ever," Lamb said, per Patrik Walker. "He's Micah Parsons. He's unblockable, unstoppable."
