The Oregon Ducks were expected to make a strong pursuit for being one of the best teams in the country. After their convincing double-overtime win against Penn State last week, the Ducks climbed the rankings and are now ranked No. 2 in the nation.
Oregon is off this weekend, giving the Ducks extra time to prepare for their second straight top-10 matchup when they host Fernando Mendoza and No. 8 Indiana on Oct. 11.
With plenty of coverage on the Ducks during their off week, it's been revealed that Oregon fans shouldn't have to worry about losing breakout quarterback Dante Moore for the NFL after this season.
Insider: Dante Moore 'in no rush' to leave Oregon for the NFL
Oregon starting quarterback Dante Moore has been nothing less than impressive in the short time he's had the job for the Ducks. Through five games, he has a 74.6% completion rate, 1,210 passing yards, 14 touchdowns, and just one interception while adding another 122 yards on the ground.
A nearly perfect first five games for the Ducks, Moore is in the running for the Heisman Trophy. With this being said, he's definitely caught the eye of NFL scouts.
Although the NFL will be the end goal for the 20-year-old, it seems that the starting quarterback will continue to be patient in the process.
The Athletic's Bruce Feldman mentioned that Moore "is in no rush to leave Oregon for the NFL."
"They’ve (Moore's camp) seen how the added seasoning benefitted Jayden Daniels, who flourished as a rookie last year. Moore won’t turn 21 until a month after the 2026 draft," Feldman wrote.

With much of the 2025 college football season still ahead, Dante Moore has emerged as one of the nation's top quarterbacks. Head coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks will aim to finish the regular season ranked No. 1 for the second straight year.
