Ole Miss is expected to start Trinidad Chambliss at quarterback on Saturday against Washington State, according to On3’s Pete Nakos. This will mark his fourth straight start after going 3-0 as a starter. Austin Simmons started the season as the No. 1 QB, but continues to recover from an ankle injury.

During the SEC Teleconference call on Wednesday, Kiffin said Ole Miss is still “evaluating” the situation on whether or not Chambliss will start.

“I heard this week he’s in the Heisman race and we don’t know if he’s playing Saturday or not,” Kiffin said.

Chambliss has emerged into the Heisman race and looks to add to his candidacy. He has accounted for 1,299 yards and seven total touchdowns. He went 23-of-39 for 314 yards and a touchdown in the win over then-No. 4 LSU two weeks ago.

Simmons’ return remains unclear at the moment. "He's not back to 100 percent," Kiffin said. "We’ll continue to evaluate that and look at everything. We’re in a great place."

Ole Miss hosts Washington State this week (12:45 p.m. ET, SEC Network).
