Game Recap: 

 

The game of the week did not disappoint. No. 9 Georgia upsets No. 5 Ole Miss 43-35. In a game that went back and forth for the first three quarters, no punts in the first half, saw Ole Miss leading much of the game. Georgia was able to make defensive stops in the 4th quarter, alllowing them to fight their way back from being down 35-25 and scored 17 points unanswered. 

 

Georgia almost seemed to have no answer for Trinidad Chambliss for most of the game. Ole Miss had to lean on their ground game as Georgia was able to keep their passing game in check in the 4th quarter. Throughout the seesaw aspect of the first three quarters and remain composed. Little by little, Georgia inched their way back into this game. By the time Ole Miss got the ball back with a little less than two minutes to go in the game, they were unable to move the ball forward. Ending the game on four consecutive incompletions before Georgia would line up in victory formation.

Game Preview: 

No. 5 Ole Miss takes on No. 9 Georgia in the game of the day and the only top 10 matchup on the day. Both head coaches engaged a little back and forth early in the week. During pregame festivities, Lane Kiffin called Kirby Smart the best coach in college football since Nick Saban's retirement. Smart said he expects Sanford to be the loudest its ever been. During the pregame interview with Holly Rowe, when asked a question, Kiffin joked by saying "I can't hear you". 

This game is the first time Ole Miss has been ranked higher than Georgia in Kiffin's tenure. Both teams sit atop the SEC standings with Ole Miss occupying the top spot. Separated by only one loss, this game could go a long way in determining late season seeding. Ole Miss QB Trinidad Chambliss is a Heisman candidate whose stock is rising and something to watch. Can Georgia's defense slow down the Ole Miss offense and can Georgia's passing attack be much less conservative vs the Ole Miss defense are matchups to watch as well. Both teams have a reasonable schedule the rest of the way and both teams will face another ranked opponent before the end of the regular season.
