Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin is in the midst of a crossroads in Oxford. As one of the most talked-about coaching names during this cycle, he'll likely have his pick of either staying put or jumping to LSU or Florida.
In the meantime, Kiffin has put out some cryptic messages on social media. But don't get out the pitchforks and torches just yet. There's nothing to worry about and it's not related to his current situation, other than trying to motivate the masses.
Kiffin was a guest on ESPN's Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday and explained it all.
"I have this wonderful platform and my favorite thing is helping people..

"I've really changed," Kiffin admitted. "I used to just coach thinking... Okay, well, it's about getting the players good and getting them in the NFL. And now, i've realized like, I have this... Really God is put me on this wonderful platform that for whatever reason people listen to me and follow me.
"To be able to help people now, especially because of all the things I went through and learned from is my favorite thing. When people come to me and say 'Hey, I watched your E60, man, and i've made changes in my life because of that or my son did'. And i'm like, man that gives me a feeling that is so much better than any win or any trophy or anything. So i've kind of become addicted to that like wanting to just help people not make some of the same mistakes.Or if they're in some tough spots, helping them through that because of things I've gone through."
Kiffin also pushed back on reports that he has been given a deadline to decide his future with the Rebels, calling the suggestion “absolutely not true."
Kiffin, who has led No. 7 Ole Miss to a 10-1 record and remains a top candidate for openings at Florida and LSU, insisted he has not received an ultimatum from the administration. “There has been no ultimatum, anything like that at all,” Kiffin said. “We’re having a blast. I love it here.”
However, athletic director Keith Carter has asked Kiffin and his agent, Jimmy Sexton, for clarity by this weekend, according to Outkick's Trey Wallace. While not characterizing it as an ultimatum, the report says Ole Miss wants to prepare for postseason planning and know about a potential coaching transition before the College Football Playoff and an eventual search if Kiffin departs.
Kiffin’s family reportedly visited Florida and LSU in recent days, adding to the heightened tension around his decision. Ole Miss is reportedly prepared to match any offer made by either school.
Kiffin is 54-19 in six seasons at Ole Miss, guiding the Rebels to at least 10 wins in four of the last five years. The Rebels close the regular season Nov. 28 at Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl.
