Kiffin's second challenge involved managing the post-game rush of inquiries regarding his future, as he weighs remaining in Oxford against pursuing another prospect—likely LSU, following Florida's reported took itself out of the mix.

Prior to Kiffin's press conference, he took a jab at a journalist who made a disparaging remark about him on a podcast earlier in the week.

On Friday, as Kiffin departed the field, he turned to confront reporter Ben Garrett, who is affiliated with "The Ole Miss Spirit," a fan site managed by On3. 

"You want to walk in here and call me a h—? We'll see how it goes," Kiffin said, referencing comments made by Garrett on a podcast earlier in the week. Before Garrett could say much, Kiffin turned around and marched to the locker room. 

Regarding the ongoing speculation that has many Ole Miss supporters believing Lane Kiffin is departing, even with a guaranteed playoff spot, Garrett commented, “Can’t turn a h— into a housewife. H—s don’t act right.”

This phrase originates from Ludacris's 1999 track “Ho.” Although Ludacris probably didn't anticipate this lyric being applied in this situation, Garrett's mention clearly alluded to Kiffin's habit of frequently moving on.

Kiffin's tenure at Ole Miss, now at six years, stands as his longest coaching period, exceeding his four years at USC, three at FAU, two with The Raiders, and one at Tennessee. His departures from The Raiders and USC were due to being fired, not voluntary resignations.

Following the game, Kiffin informed reporters that he acknowledges media scrutiny but characterized Garrett's remarks as a "different level of stuff."

While Kiffin considers a reported offer from LSU, he found a way to momentarily shift focus from his future with a postgame confrontation on Friday.
