ESPN analyst Louis Riddick shifted the national conversation Tuesday, calling Ole Miss' Kewan Lacy the “best all-around running back in the country” in a post that quickly drew attention across college football.

Lacy, a transfer from Missouri, has emerged as the workhorse of Lane Kiffin’s offense during a record-setting season. After rushing for just 104 yards as a freshman with the Tigers, he has transformed into one of the nation’s most productive backs, helping push the No. 6 Rebels toward their first College Football Playoff berth.

Riddick’s endorsement came days after Lacy delivered one of the best performances in Ole Miss history. In a 34–24 win over Florida, he carried 31 times for 224 yards and three touchdowns, breaking runs of 41 and 59 yards and powering the Rebels through key late-game moments.

That was a key moment in a season in which he has rushed for 1,136 yards and a school-record 19 touchdowns on 231 carries.

Lacy has also rewritten the scoring record book, posting 114 points, which is the most by a non-kicker in program history. Also, he recorded five 100-yard rushing games. Advanced metrics place him among the national leaders in yards after contact, adding to Riddick’s claim that he is the most complete back in the nation.

With Ole Miss in the midst of a bye before the Egg Bowl on Nov. 28 (Noon ET, ABC), Lacy’s rise has become a main factor for the Rebels’ playoff push. And to his growing case for national awards.
