Ohio State will likely be without top wide receivers Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith when the No. 1 Buckeyes face Rutgers on Saturday.

Two significant setbacks for an offense preparing for its final road test before Michigan. Both players are dealing with lower-body injuries, according to ESPN Pete Thamel

Tate is set to miss his third straight game, while Smith, who leads the Big Ten with 10 touchdown receptions. He exited last week’s win over UCLA after limping late in the first half.

Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day declined to specify their availability, sticking to the program’s long-standing policy on injury details. In their absence, Brandon Inniss is expected to take on a larger role after leading the Buckeyes with six catches for 30 yards against UCLA.

Ohio State enters the matchup 10-0, while 5-5 Rutgers aims for its first-ever win over the Buckeyes in 11 tries since joining the Big Ten.
