The Ohio State Buckeyes have an established quarterback, Julian Sayin, who isn't going anywhere.
That leaves backup QB Lincoln Kienholz in a tough spot.
Kienholz is a talented player in his own right, but he wasn't just in New York City as a Heisman Trophy finalist.
To keep his football career moving, Kienholz might have to move on from the Buckeyes.
He was asked about his transfer thoughts in the lead-up to this week's Cotton Bowl, and Kienholz was honest:
“I've definitely had conversations. I'm not 100% sure, but my goal is to go to the NFL, and in order to do that, you gotta play. So I've had conversations with Coach (Ryan) Day and also with Coach (Billy) Fessler a little bit about it.”

Kienholz is in his third season at Ohio State.
Across the three campaigns, he has attempted 36 passes, completing 21 (58.3%). He has thrown for 250 yards and a touchdown.
Keinholz is also a great runner, having carried 11 times for 66 yards and two touchdowns this season.
He did only play three games as a freshman and two games as a sophomore, so one of those can count as a redshirt season as far as Kienholz's eligibility goes.
Another school would have to take a bit of a chance on Kienholz, given he doesn't have college starting experience.
But he's grown up for a few years now in a big-time program, and he can probably be a contributing QB immediately elsewhere, if he decides to leave.
