And his St. Francis de Sales high school football team in Columbus needed every last play.
Day tossed a last-second touchdown to secure a playoff win and advancement into the regional semifinal with a 33-29 win over Ashland.
In the process, the son of Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, RJ Day threw for a school record 482 yards.

St. Francis de Sales has advanced to take on Massillon Washington, one of the most storied programs in Ohio high school football, on Friday, Nov. 14.
